A HOLIDAY SPECIAL (Arts)

Location: Will Rogers Auditorium
Ballet Concerto, under the artistic direction of Margo Dean, will present A HOLIDAY SPECIAL. The performance will feature "The Princess and the Magical Christmas Star", an original ballet with choreography by Christine Hay. Set to enchanting waltzes and lively suites, it tells the story of the Winter Fairy, who helps a Princess bring to life her favorite Christmas gift, a Mummer Doll.(No clue about a Mummer doll? Come and find out!). The performance opens with "Swingin' Into the Holidays", a toe-tapping medley of holiday songs. "Festival of Lights", a Flamenco piece celebrating the Jewish holiday tradition of the lighting of the candles. "O Holy Night" will sweep the audience to long ago Bethlehem in a re-enactment of the Nativity. King Herod's exotic , enchanting harem, leaping shepherds, flying angels, and elaborately dressed Magi will lead up to a glorious ending with the Holy Family.
